TEHRAN – The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was injured as the Israeli military exploded pagers in Lebanon on Tuesday.
Amani has suffered minor injuries, the Fars news agency said. It said the ambassador was being treated in the hospital.
The ambassador's wife also said, “My husband has suffered a minor injury. Thank God, he is in a good condition.”
Hundreds of Hezbollah members, including resistance fighters and medics, were wounded when the pagers they use to communicate exploded.
The explosions took place amid heightened violence between Israel and Hezbollah, who have been engaged in cross-border warfare since the Gaza war erupted last October.
